Our client is seeking a Linux Administrator with 5+ years as a RHEL administrator or equivalent UNIX/LINUX. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting Oracle systems and databases, comfortable managing Linux servers; install, configure, migrate, monitor, and troubleshoot virtual and physical machines on a RHEL 5/6 platforms. Responsibilities include patching, security mitigation, monitoring and server management. Strong command line and shell scripting ability. Occasional evening and weekend support will be required.


Duties & Responsibilities:


· Ensure availability and stability of production Linux servers


· Install, configure, monitor and troubleshoot Linux servers


· Manage systems via Red Hat Satellite Server


· Support new builds of RHEL 6.x servers


· Installation and support of all third-party tools which reside on the OS including both application middleware, performance, security and monitoring tools


· Monitor and correct issues involving, disk, memory, and CPU


· Recommend, plan, design, build, document and deploy infrastructure upgrades


· Support ad hoc requests from development and operations team members


· Writing Standard Operating Procedures for system administrator related tasks


· 5 to 7 years’ equivalent experience in IT or a related field
· 2 to 5+ years of technical experience in infrastructure administration experience
· 5+ years’ experience working in RHEL
· Proficient in installation, support and troubleshooting of RHEL 5.x and/or RHEL 6.x
· Strong OS migration skills
· Strong shell scripting skills to include functions for automation, monitoring and D&R
· Occasional support of scheduled weekend maintenance windows
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Experience writing scripts to help with administrative tasks
· Customer focused
Education Required: BS or 15 years work experience
U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for this position
Salary Range: Negotiable - can do W2 hourly
